Porto planning summer bid for Ntcham Portuguese giants Porto are set to reignite their interest in Celtic midfielder Olivier Ntcham. The Daily Record explains that Porto are once again keen to sign the player, but Brendan Rodgers has no interest in losing him during the January window. Porto, who will now wait until the summer before launching another move, were heavily linked with a deal to sign Ntcham during the previous transfer window after Celtic dropped out of the Champions League. With aspirations to break into the French senior squad, there were serious concerns over Ntcham’s long-term future at Celtic, but he would go on to remain at the club.

Olivier Ntcham will miss some of Celtic’s warm weather training sessions after he picked up a hamstring injury in training.

Brendan Rodgers revealed that the 22-year-old will have a scan on the injury as Celtic hope the damage isn’t too severe.

He said:

“Olivier felt his hamstring tight in training yesterday, so he’s going to have a scan on that.”

The Frenchman has already featured in 30 games for the champions this season, scoring six goals in the process, and Rodgers will be hoping that the injury isn’t severe enough to see him miss a considerable amount of action.

There is some positive news on the injury front, however, as Odsonne Edouard is expected to return to training by the end of this week.

The striker was not 100% fit before the winter break and Celtic have given him every opportunity to get himself back into shape before what is sure to be a demanding second half of the season.

Celtic are in a title race with Rangers, whilst they have their sights set on a decent Europa League run as well as defending their Scottish Cup.
