Schalke deny Solanke reports

Schalke deny Solanke reports Schalke have denied having an interest in Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke, after they were linked with a move this month. According to Sky Sport Germany, Schalke have said that they have had no contact with Chelsea regarding a deal for Solanke. Crystal Palace are thought to be on the verge of sealing a loan move for Solanke, after Roy Hodgson admitted the club were in talks with Chelsea earlier this week. Solanke has fallen out-of-favour at Anfield and looks set to leave the club in the current transfer window. Divock Origi, Daniel Sturridge and Roberto Firmino are all ahead of Solanke in the pecking order. Schalke were said to be interested in a loan swoop for Solanke, but that appears to be far from the case as a Palace transfer becomes increasingly likely. The English forward has scored one Premier League goal for Liverpool since moving to the club from Chelsea.

Leigh Griffiths has suggested that he will soon be back available for Celtic,

The Scotland international forward took a break from football last month, with Hoops manager Brendan Rodgers indicating that he had things to deal with in his personal life.

However, the 28-year old has now suggested on Twitter that he may be close to returning, and will once again be avaialble for the Bhoys.

The former Wolves forward responded to a fan made highlight reel of Griffiths’ moments at Celtic, quote retweeting it with a caption ready:

“Not long before I’m back doing all this!”

Celtic have missed the forward in his absence, with Odsonne Edouard having struggled for consistency in his absence.

Liverpool sign young French defender.
Liverpool have completed the signing of French defender Billy Koumetio, according to ESPN. The 16-year old defender joins from US Orleans for a nominal fee, having spent time with the Reds on trial last year, having also travelled with the Under-17s to Berlin for friendlies in November. Having started his career in Lyon’s academy, Koumetio made the move to second-division side Orleans and will now join Liverpool’s Under-16s side. Koumetio joins Liverpool’s already well-stocked pool of young talent, with the club having signed 17-year old centre-back Ki-Jana Hoever from Ajax in the summer.
