Sarri facing Chelsea sack after Bournemouth defeat

Sarri facing Chelsea sack after Bournemouth defeat Maurizio Sarri is facing the prospect of losing his job at Chelsea after a shock 4-0 defeat away to Bournemouth. The Daily Mail claims that the pressure is rising on the Chelsea head coach after Eddie Howe’s side eased past them on Wednesday night. It is claimed that Sarri kept his players in the changing room for 40 minutes after the full-time whistle, without the rest of his coaching staff. Chelsea fans were seen to turn on the Italian throughout the game, with the Blues now losing back-to-back Premier League games in a very unconvincing manner.

Chelsea players are ready to take matters into their own hands if Maurizio Sarri remains in charge at Stamford Bridge.

According to Spanish outlet AS, a number of the club’s high-profile players have already started to speak with their respective agents and representatives to engineer moves away, if the Italian stays in charge.

The report suggests that Sarri has now well and truly lost the Chelsea dressing room after their 6-0 mauling against Manchester City.

Player power has always been rife at Stamford Bridge and it has not been uncommon for players to ‘down tools’ under previous managers that they’re not so keen on.

The same thing happened during both Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte’s time at the club.

Chelsea are yet to make a decision on Sarri, but should the club stand by and support him through the summer and beyond, they could see a number of key first-team players move on during the next transfer window.

Sarri urges Chelsea fans to get behind players.
Maurizio Sarri has urged the Chelsea supporters not to turn on his players on Wednesday night. The Blues host Tottenham in a crucial Premier League clash, in what has become one of the country’s more intense rivalries. Sarri is well aware that a defeat at Stamford Bridge is likely to spell the end of his time as Chelsea manager. Fans have been vocal in their criticism of him lately, despite some siding with him after Sunday’s Carabao Cup final controversy with goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga. Speaking to reporters ahead of the game, Sarri pleaded with the supporters to stay positive with his players, if not with him: “I was disappointed for my players. Only for my players.
