Liverpool "definitely" interested in 'new Pirlo' Tonali

Liverpool Liverpool are interested in signing highly-rated Brescia midfielder Sandro Tonali, according to Italian football expert David Amoyal. The Reds have been constantly linked with the 18-year-old in recent weeks, with a view to a summer move mooted and some reports even claiming talks were underway. Dubbed the ‘new Pirlo’ because of his likeness in look and style to legendary midfielder Andrea Pirlo, Tonali is seen a hugely exciting prospect. Jurgen Klopp is continually looking to improve his Liverpool squad and someone who believes Tonali is a primary target is Amoyal.

Juventus are making efforts to pip Liverpool to the signing of Sandro Tonali.

According to a report from Italian news outlet Il Bianconero, the Serie A giants are pursuing a summer deal for the midfielder.

The Reds have been linked with a move to sign the youngster from Brescia, with reports recently indicating that they are indeed interested in tying up a transfer in the near future.

However, it seems Juventus are making significant steps in their attempts to lure him to the club.

Il Bianconero reports that Brescia are determined to keep hold of Tonali for another season, with the midfielder continuing to emerge as a pivotal player for the club.

This does not appear to be an issue for Juventus, though, with the club reportedly willing to loan the 18-year-old back to the Italian club should they complete a summer move.

Liverpool may need to move quickly if they are to prevent Massimiliano Allegri’s side from beating them to the signing of Tonali.

Ramsey's wage demands saw Liverpool cool interest.
Liverpool were interested in signing Aaron Ramsey from Arsenal, according to the Evening Standard’s James Olley, but declined to pursue the player partially because of his wage demands. The Welsh international has put pen to paper on a pre-contract agreement with Serie A champions Juventus, where he will earn approximately £400,000 a week. These financial demands from Ramsey appeared to put the Reds, along with Premier League rivals Manchester United, off a deal to sign the player ahead of the summer.
