The Jets officially cut Isaiah Crowell Thursday in an expected move after agreeing to a deal with Le ’ Veon Bell this week. The Daily News reported last month that the Jets would part ways with Crowell before million of his million salary became guaranteed on March 15.

Running back Isaiah Crowell's time in New York was short lived.

The Jets announced Thursday they have released the 26-year-old after just one season. The move comes after New York signed free agent Le'Veon Bell to a four-year, $52.5 million contract earlier this week.

New York will have Bell, Elijah McGuire and Trenton Cannon as their top three backs after Crowell's departure.

Crowell signed a three-year, $12 million contract to become the Jets' starting running back last season. He previously spent four seasons with the Browns after he signed as an undrafted free agent in 2014.

In five NFL seasons, Crowell has compiled 3,803 rushing yards and 27 touchdowns. He ran for 685 yards and six touchdowns last season, gaining 4.8 yards per carry in 13 games.

Le'Veon Bell on skipping 2018 season: 'I don't regret anything that happened'.
"Who can say if I played on a franchise tag, if I do get hurt, do I sit here with the New York Jets with a beautiful deal?" Bell said.
