The Alliance of American Football is ready to move past the midway point of the 2019 schedule this weekend.

Now that we're halfway through the season, we have a better idea of who the top teams are. The Apollos continue to be dominant, putting up quite the performance against the Iron in Week 5 and winning 31-14. The Fleet were able to bounce back despite losing their starting QB, and the Commanders have rised to the top.

We had another solid week of picks last week, as we went 3-1, bringing our season total to 10-5.

We'll be diving in to each of the Week 6 matchups, but before we do, let's take a look at the schedule. (Betting odds via BetOnline.)

Express (1-4) at Stallions (1-4)

Spread: Stallions -8.5 (-110)

Over/Under: 40 (-110)

Even though this matchup doesn't look like much on paper (a battle between the two worst records in the league), this has the potential to be a good game. Memphis has improved since it changed quarterbacks and lost last week on a game-winning field goal in the final seconds.

Meanwhile, the Stallions have been close in almost every game they've played but haven't been able to pull out a win. We made Salt Lake the bottom team in our Power Rankings, and a loss at home to Memphis this week would reinforce that position.

NBA standings: 2019 playoff picture updates, seedings in East, West races

NBA standings: 2019 playoff picture updates, seedings in East, West races NBA teams vying for playoff spots still have work to do as part of what should be an extremely tight race. Just how close are the standings? Only two games separate the third, fourth and fifth seeds in the East, and the middle of the pack in the West could change daily throughout March and April. NBA AWARDS 2019: MVP race | Rookie of the Year race Let's take a full look at the standings and see where each team lands ahead of the 2019 NBA playoffs. (Standings are current as of March 18. The Bulls, Cavs, Knicks and Suns have been eliminated from playoff contention.

These are two of the three lowest-scoring teams in the league, so don't expect an offensive explosion.

Who to watch: Stallions WR De'Mornay Pierson-El has become a great option on offense. He is third in the league in receptions (23) and fourth in receiving yards (279). He earned the highest WR grade from PFF in Week 5.

Prediction: Express win, 18-14

Hotshots (2-3) at Apollos (5-0)

Spread: Apollos -9 (-110)

Over/Under: 42.5 (-110)

Arizona has dropped three straight games (two of which were at home) as the Hotshots continue to free-fall down the standings. Meanwhile, the Apollos have only grown stronger with an impressive showing against the Iron in Week 5.

Orlando has recently found its running game to pair with its league-leading passing game, and the defense has allowed the second-fewest points in the league. They own a net 72 point differential, which towers over the league's second-best net point of 27 (owned by the Iron).

Alliance of American Football schedule: Odds, line, predictions for Week 7 AAF games

Alliance of American Football schedule: Odds, line, predictions for Week 7 AAF games The Alliance of American Football advances to Week 7 as the playoff race heats up. Plus, Johnny Manziel could make an appearance this week for the Memphis Express.

The Apollos are on their own level, and it's hard to see Arizona winning this one. Espeically with the game being in Orlando.

Who to watch: Apollos RB D'Ernest Johnson has 251 rushing yards on 43 carries (5.8 yards per carry) and 128 receiving yards on 10 receptions. He has been a star on offense, and we don't expect him to slow down against an Arizona team allowing 122 rushing yards per game.

Prediction: Apollos win, 35-16

Commanders (3-2) at Legends (2-3)

Spread: Legends -1.5 (-110)

Over/Under: 40.5 (-110)

Atlanta has improved since it switched to QB Aaron Murray, but the hasn't quite placed the Legends in the top tier of teams. Their last two wins have come from game-winning kicks against two of the bottom-tiered teams in the league.

This matchup will be a real test, against a Commanders squad that has become a consensus No. 2 in most power rankings. It should be fun to see whether San Antonio's defense can pounce on Atlanta's offense. The Commanders have forced 17 sacks, six interceptions and caused 12 fumbles.

The Legends have the league's worst offense, scoring an average of 13.4 points per game, and have allowed 14 sacks (second-most in the league). Atlanta has home-field advantage, but it's hard to see the Commanders losing this one.

Now in AAF, Steve Spurrier has not changed a bit — thankfully

Now in AAF, Steve Spurrier has not changed a bit — thankfully Steve Spurrier is exactly the kind of coach the Alliance of American Football needs.

Who to watch: Commanders DB De'Vante Bausby allowed a 0.0 passer rating when targeted last week, per PFF. He has eight pass deflections on the season and three interceptions, making him an underrated defender in the league.

Prediction: Commanders win, 24-12

Iron (3-2) at Fleet (3-2)

Spread: Fleet -6 (-110)

Over/Under: 35.5 (-110)

This will be the game of the week between two teams that have had similar struggles throughout the season. Both feature strong defenses, QB troubles and a reliance on the run game. The interesting aspect about this game will be if Birmingham turns to QB Keith Price, who replaced Luis Perez in Week 5.

Coach Tim Lewis has not made a decision on which QB will start, but logic suggests he will go with Price. The Iron offense showed some life with Price that it didn't have with Perez, who still hasn't thrown a touchdown this season.

On the other side, the Fleet need to get RB Ja'Quan Gardner going again. He had back-to-back 100-yard games but followed them with six-yard and three-yard performances the following weeks. QB Mike Bercovici isn't going to win this game for San Diego, so the Fleet will need something out of Gardner.

Who to watch: Fleet DB Kameron Kelly stunned last week when he pulled in three interceptions (and a touchdown) in a single game. Kelly started the year as a WR for San Diego but has transitioned to defense without any problems.

Prediction: Fleet win, 14-11

AAF might not survive past this weekend, report says.
The AAF will play games through Week 8 of the inaugural season, however, it’s "entirely possible that the plug will be pulled." Why the sudden change? The AAF hasn't reached an agreement with the NFL Players Association that would make certain NFL players available to the new league. Tom Dundon, the majority investor of the AAF, believes the AAF won't have a chance to become a "developmental" league if it doesn't have access to young NFL players. "We are looking at our options, one of which is discontinuing the league," Dundon told USA Today earlier this week.
