Could Nathan Ake be another Chelsea reject to shine at Anfield? Liverpool have struggled this season with constant injuries to regular first-team starters. The Anfield side had a headache when three out of their four centre backs were out with respective injury problems earlier in the campaign. Jurgen Klopp was forced to play midfielder Fabinho at the centre of defence on several occasions. These injuries to the Liverpool centre backs have really caused the club a lot of problems this season. With the transfer market coming up in the summer, Klopp must be looking at centre backs around Europe to add to his squad. Bournemouth’s Nathan Ake should surely be on Klopp’s list of targets.

Napoli are interested in a deal to sign Bournemouth’s Nathan Ake, but will face competition from both Chelsea and Tottenham.

According to De Telegraaf, the Italian side have shortlisted the Dutch defender as a potential replacement for Manchester United target Kalidou Koulibaly.

Unfortunately for Carlo Ancelotti’s side, they will face Premier League competition.

Chelsea hold a buy-back clause for the player, as part of the deal that saw him move to Bournemouth permanently, offering the club an immediate advantage in the race to sign him.

Ake left Chelsea back in 2017 after impressing on loan at Bournemouth. He was initially brought back into the fold by Antonio Conte but left the following summer in order to play regular first-team football.

Chelsea fans will have fond memories of an imperious performance against Tottenham at Wembley before his permanent departure from the club.
