Crystal Palace player ratings: Huddersfield (H) Crystal Palace took a big step towards Premier League survival by beating Huddersfield 2-0 at Selhurst Park, confirming the Terriers relegation to the Championship. Palace didn’t have the greatest first 45 minutes but managed to put Huddersfield to the sword in the second half. The Terriers gave away a penalty on 76 minutes, with Luka Milivojevic sends Ben Hamer the wrong way to give Palace the lead. Palace would then get a second, with Patrick van Aanholt getting his third goal of the season. Here’s how we rated the Palace players. 2/13 SLIDES © David Rogers/Getty Images Sport Vicente Guaita - 7 Kept a clean sheet, and did well to at that.

Lucas Moura scored a hattrick to help Spurs beat relegated Huddersfield Town 4-0 at their new home and move above Chelsea to third in the Premier League table.

Victor Wanyama was surprisingly the other scorer for the home side, who were comfortable throughout the course of this game.

The Kenyan midfielder gave his team the lead in the 24th minute after he was well found by Fernando Llorente. The former then danced around the Huddersfield keeper to slot the ball home.

Moura doubled the lead two minutes later when he rifled a low shot past Ben Hamer, after being played in by Moussa Sissoko.

The Brazil international was on the scoresheet again three minutes from time, when he controlled a Christian Eriksen cross and volleyed the ball into the back of the net.

He eventually completed his hat-trick deep into stoppage time with a sumptuous finish, after Heung-min Son found him with a through ball.

All in all, a comfortable afternoon for Mauricio Pochettino’s men, who now have two big games in two different competitions against Manchester City coming up.

The manager would be glad that he rotated his side for this game and it paid off.

Here’s how we rated the players’ performances today:

Tottenham player ratings: Crystal Palace (H) Spurs couldn’t have asked for much more from their first game in their new stadium. They put in a very professional performance against a stubborn Palace defence and were rewarded for their efforts with all three points. With goals from both Heung-Min Son and Christian Eriksen, Spurs have gone back into third position in the Premier League and will hopefully now have their season back on track. Despite some speculation surrounding their move the Spurs players didn’t seem to find their sparkling new surroundings to be a burden to their on-field performance.

Manchester City Player Ratings: Tottenham (H).
Manchester City 1-0 Tottenham. After the game in midweek, it was a scoreline that was very likely to because both gave everything they had on Wednesday evening. However, the game looked as if it was going to be a very similar occasion to the Champions League tie when Phil Foden opened the scoring in just under 5 minutes. The hosts lost their energy as the first half fizzled out, though, which meant that the second half became a very nervy affair. The way the first half changed was symbolised by Kevin De Bruyne thumping the ball out of play, as he went down injured with what has kept him out all season.
