With an impending Europa League quarter-final second-leg against Slavia Prague on Thursday, Sarri may well turn to the vastly more experienced Cahill to get them over the line and deliver them to the semi-finals.

Success in the Europa League may well become imperative for Chelsea, should they fail to finish in a Champions League qualification spot.

Rudiger set for scans as knee injury threatens to end his season.
Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger will receive tests today to uncover the severity of the knee injury that forced him off against Man United yesterday, the Evening Standard report. The German had to be subbed off in the 65th minute of Sunday’s game after going down holding his knee in innocuous fashion with no one around him. Things don’t look good for the 26-year-old, as it is suspected that he will be forced to miss the remainder of the season. He is set to undergo tests sometime today to see how serious the injury could be and whether he will be able to play again in any of Chelsea’s remaining games. Twitter: Thanks for today’s support.
