No Stephen Curry, James Harden in LeBron James' 'Space Jam 2'? That's shoe biz, report says

No Stephen Curry, James Harden in LeBron James' 'Space Jam 2'? That's shoe biz, report says Sneakers play a factor because the original 1996 film was inspired by the "Hare Jordan" Nike commercial. Nike became an essential part of "Space Jam," which creates a problem for Curry and Harden because of their current shoe contracts. Curry has a deal with Under Armour through 2024, while Harden is under contract with Adidas until 2028. The report also indicated that Golden State's Kevin Durant, who is a Nike endorser, won't be in the movie because of his own Hollywood venture that will be based on his life. He's working on launching an Apple series, called "Swagger.

Will LeBron James be joining Chuck, Shaq, Kenny and Ernie on "NBA on TNT" at some point during the NBA playoffs? Maybe.

Charles Barkley made the case for James to join the show Sunday night. His main argument was that, since James has nothing to do after the Lakers were eliminated from the playoffs, he should join the crew for a night to talk basketball. They even considered getting a "Game of Thrones" chair for King James to sit on.

Barkley made a convincing argument.

"LeBron James, come in to the studio," Barkley said. "You ain't got nothing to do. The playoffs started yesterday, you've got free time. I know you've got to pick a coach and a general manager. Put that on the back burner. I'm begging you on the behalf [of everyone here]. And LeBron, how about this — you can leave at halftime of the second game."

The other hosts weren't as willing as Barkley to let James leave early. After all, most of the fun starts in the middle of the night with this crew.

Barkley's plea made for fun discussion, but then James actually responded.

The good news: James didn't say no.

The bad news: James didn't say yes.

Hopefully TNT and James can figure out a way to make this work. This would be must-see television. You just know Barkley and Shaquille O'Neal are going to say something to try and get James off his game. We already saw some of this earlier in 2019 when James was on TNT for the NBA All-Star Draft.

But that was only for a few minutes. Having James on for an entire episode needs to happen. Time to make #KingInStudio trending.

LeBron James no longer alone as best player in NBA — according to '2K'.
The struggles of LeBron James and the Lakers this season have led to something we have not seen in almost 10 years. The King is not alone atop the "NBA 2K" player ratings.
