Kevin Durant does not want to make the same mistake again.

Durant and Clippers guard Patrick Beverley were ejected from the Warriors’ Game 1 win in the fourth quarter after a verbal confrontation. Durant apologized to his team when he met with reporters Monday.

“I don’t want to disappoint my coaches, my fanbase and owners who expect me to be out on the floor,” Durant said, via The Mercury News. “I apologize for getting thrown out of the game.

Durant said he’s focusing on not letting Beverley get into his head as the series moves forward.

“This is not about me or Patrick Beverley,” Durant said. “This is about the Clippers and the Warriors.

Durant scored 23 points, grabbed four rebounds and dished out three assists in 32 minutes in Game 1. Coach Steve Kerr said after the win he thought Durant “took the bait.”

The Warriors and Clippers will face off Monday in Game 2 at 10:30 p.m. ET.
