Daniel Arzani has returned to permanent club Manchester City to “step up his rehabilitation”, according to the Daily Record.

The Australian’s first season at Celtic has been ruined by injury after he tore his anterior cruciate ligament away to Dundee back in October, on his debut for the club.

Arzani is on a two-year loan spell at Parkhead from City, following an impressive World Cup last summer.

The 20-year-old’s campaign was effectively finished as soon as the injury occurred, and the main focus is now on being ready for next season.

Arzani took part in light training sessions at Lennoxtown last month, but he is still not at the stage to be doing anything too rigorous.

He took to social media on Monday to confirm that he is at City currently, continuing his recovery.

The Australian superstar is seen as a hugely promising prospect and he will hope that such a serious injury does not impact on his career.
