Chelsea predicted XI: Slavia Prague (A) Chelsea travel to the Czech Republic to take on Slavia Prague in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final this Thursday, as Maurizio Sarri looks to build on a steadily impressive recent run of form. With three wins from three, Chelsea have racked up their longest winning run since the opening five games of the season – which is perhaps a comment more so on their disappointing form since the turn of the year than anything else. 1/12 SLIDES © Julian Finney/Getty Images Sport Chelsea predicted XI: Slavia Prague (A) Chelsea travel to the Czech Republic to take on Slavia Prague in the fi

Chelsea progressed to the semi-finals of the Europa League after defeating Slavia Prague 4-3 at Stamford Bridge, resulting in a 5-3 aggregate victory.

The Blues played their part in a dramatic second-leg affair but were able to advance after blowing their Czech counterparts away in the first half of the quarter-final clash.

It took just five minutes for Chelsea to open the scoring through Pedro before the Spaniard was again involved as Simon Deli turned into his own net, making it 2-0 to the hosts after nine minutes.

With one eye on Sunday’s game against Liverpool, Chelsea fans were glad to see that the double barrel academy duo of Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ruben Loftus-Cheek had been left on the bench for tonight’s game, as this hinted at the possibility of the pair starting together in one of the defining fixtures of Chelsea’s season.

Olivier Giroud netted his 10th Europa League goal of the campaign after 17 minutes before Slavia Prague pulled one back courtesy of Tomas Soucek.

Chelsea were back in the goals again two minutes after their visitors responded, with Pedro netting his second of the evening on the 27th-minute mark.

A second-half fightback from Slavia Prague saw Petr Sevcik score two exceptionally-taken strikes within three minutes of each other, to bring the scoreline to 4-3.

Chelsea will face Eintracht Frankfurt in the semi-finals of the Europa League after they defeated Benfica on away goals following a 4-4 aggregate draw.
