Standard Liege have denied receiving an offer from Southampton for Moussa Djenepo, despite the Saints willing to pay £20m for the winger.

The 20-year-old is a reported target for boss Ralph Hasenhuttl, who is keen on making the player his first Southampton signing this summer.

However, despite the Saints willing to pay £20m for the wide man, Belgian publication, Het Belang van Limburg, cited by Sport Witness, claim that Standard Liege have yet to receive an offer for the player.

The same report suggests that the club have turned down a €12m offer from an English outfit in the past, but refused to name the side.

Djenepo has made 31 appearances in the Belgian top-flight for Standard Liege this season and has found the back of the net eight times so far.

The youngster has also scored three goals in five Europa League games earlier this season for the Belgian side and could provide the Saints with the pace and direct approach Hasenhuttl’s side needs next season.
