Roman Abramovich will not sell the club this summer, with Chelsea defender David Luiz claiming that the Russian remains committed to the club despite not attending Stamford Bridge all season.

Abramovich has been in a long-running dispute with the UK government, although he is expected to attend Chelsea’s friendly against New England Revolution tonight in aid of their ‘Say No to Antisemitism’ campaign.

Earlier this month, Chelsea officials rebuffed rumours that Abramovich is open to selling Chelsea FC to Britain’s former richest man and billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Abramovich acquired the club from former owner Ken Bates for £140 million back in 2003, and his financial firepower has delivered numerous back-to-back Premier League titles and the coveted Champions League trophy.

Chelsea are facing a two-window transfer ban but the club have appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. If the appeal is successful and FIFA’s punishment is frozen, fans can expect Abramovich to splash the cash on players essential to challenge for major titles next season.

Sarri will be sacked despite Europa League final result.
Maurizio Sarri will be sacked as Chelsea manager even if they win the Europa League final. That’s according to Gazzetta dello Sport, via Sport Witness, who claim Roman Abramovich has already made his mind up. Sarri has failed to convince the masses in his first season at Stamford Bridge, even though the Blues finished third in the Premier League and have reached two finals. The Italian’s style of play has often frustrated the Chelsea supporters and he has proved unpredictable in interviews. It looks as though Sarri will be moving onto pastures new, if this latest report is to be believed. It is claimed that he even knows his fate, and has done for a while now.
