Celtic-linked Shankland to leave Ayr this summer

Celtic-linked Shankland to leave Ayr this summer Celtic-linked striker Lawrence Shankland will leave Ayr United this summer, according to Lachlan Cameron. As reported by the Evening Times, the Ayr United chairman has explained that the club will not stand in his way if he wishes to move on at the end of the campaign. “I can’t see any situation where we would be able to hold on to Lawrence, even if we win promotion. Part of the deal when he signed again last year was that we would help facilitate a move for him come the end of this season, and we’re getting towards the end of the season and that’s still the plan.” Shankland has been heavily linked with moves away from the club this season.

Celtic are reportedly exploring the possibility of bringing Bournemouth striker Lys Mousset to Celtic Park this summer.

According to the Scottish Daily Mail, cited by the BBC, the Hoops are exploring different ways of landing the French Under-21 international.

With Celtic reluctant to meet Bournemouth’s £10m valuation of the forward, the club are believed to be considering a player plus cash move to secure Mousset’s services next season.

Mousset joined the Cherries back in 2016 from French outfit Le Harve and has gone on to make over 50 Premier League appearances, most of which have come from the substitutes bench.

The striker has only netted five times in his Bournemouth career, averaging one goal every 11 games.

Celtic are thought to be keen on adding to their attacking ranks this summer, however, a move for the 23-year-old may well be a risky one, especially considering his lack of goals in the past three years.

Celtic linked with Girona striker Cristhian Stuani.
Celtic have been linked with a move for prolific Girona striker Cristhian Stuani, according to Spanish outlet AS, cited by the Scotsman. The 32-year-old has enjoyed an impressive individual season in La Liga, scoring 19 times in Spain’s top division, with only Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi, Karim Benzema and Iago Aspas netting more. Unfortunately for Stuani, his goals couldn’t prevent Girona from relegation and the striker has now been heavily linked with a move away from the club. The Hoops are reportedly showing an interest in the former Middlesbrough player, along with Championship outfit Nottingham Forest.
