SportBournemouth agree fee with Bristol City for Liverpool target Lloyd Kelly
Southampton weighing up swoop for Kelly
Southampton are reportedly weighing up a move to sign Bristol City defender Lloyd Kelly. According to Bristol Post, Southampton are keen on a deal to sign the youngster, having been impressed with him this season. The report claims that Southampton have sent scouts to watch Kelly numerous times and enquired about a move back in January. Bristol City are said to want a fee in the region of £15m for the England under-21 international defender. Kelly is capable of playing at left-back or at centre-back and has thrived in both positions under Lee Johnson at Bristol City in the Championship this season.
Liverpool look set to miss out of Bristol City defender Lloyd Kelly as AFC Bournemouth have reportedly agreed a fee with the Robins for the youngster.
The Reds have been scouting the versatile 20-year-old this season, but, Jurgen Klopp appears to have missed out on Kelly with Bournemouth agreeing a £13million fee for the defender.
Kelly has made 32 appearances for Lee Johnson’s side this season and had been linked with a move away this summer following an impressive campaign for the Robins.
The 20-year-old is capable of playing as a central defender as well as a full-back, and looks set to be included in Aidy Boothroyd’s England Under-21 squad for this summer’s European Championships in Italy and San Marino.
Kelly progressed through the ranks at Bristol City after joining the club as a teenager, and made his debut for the Robins in the Carabao Cup against Plymouth Argyle in August 2017.
Man City enter race for Liverpool target Fekir.
Manchester City have reportedly joined the race for long-term Liverpool target Nabil Fekir, ahead of the Frenchman’s inevitable Lyon departure this summer. The World Cup winner was close to moving to Anfield last summer in a deal worth more than £50million, but the transfer fell through at the final hurdle due to the results of a medical. Fekir has confirmed he intends to leave Lyon this summer though, which has seemingly placed some of Europe’s top clubs on red alert. According to Express Sport, Man City have asked the Ligue 1 club to be kept updated about Fekir’s situation over the transfer window.
