Hazard picks up awards hat-trick at Chelsea end of season night

Hazard picks up awards hat-trick at Chelsea end of season night Eden Hazard has won Chelsea’s annual Player of the Year award at the club’s end of the season awards night. The Belgium international, who could well be departing Stamford Bridge this summer, was a deserving winner after dragging the Blues to a top four finish. POTY wasn’t Hazard’s only gong of the night, with the Belgian also picking up the Players’ Player award, as well as the Goal of the Season award for his superb solo run against Liverpool. Callum Hudson-Odoi also picked up an award, taking home the Young Player of the Year title.

Chelsea are reportedly set to make their next move to keep Callum Hudson-Odoi at the club by offering want-away forward Eden Hazard’s no. 10 shirt next season.

Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich are just a few suitors, with the latter almost signing him in January after he handed in a transfer request at Stamford Bridge.

According to the Daily Mail, Hudson-Odoi will be offered the no. 10 shirt vacated by Eden Hazard after he inevitably joins Real Madrid, with fresh contract talks expected to take place later this month.

Hudson-Odoi looking to take number 10 shirt upon Hazard departure

Hudson-Odoi looking to take number 10 shirt upon Hazard departure Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi may be persuaded to stay at Chelsea upon the availability of the Eden Hazard’s number 10 shirt, with the winger being heavily linked with a move away to Real Madrid. The 18-year-old has been linked with a transfer to Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich since January, however, their interest may be slowly dissipating, according to the Daily Mail. The Daily Mail also reports that Chelsea may use Hazard’s suspected transfer to persuade Hudson-Odoi to stay at Stamford Bridge.

The 18-year-old, currently sidelined with a ruptured Achilles, saw more game time after the January transfer window and may be tempted to stay at Chelsea if he’s given assurances that the club will build around him for the future.

Bayern offered £35million for his services at the start of the year and offered the departing Arjen Robben’s no. 10 shirt as a pull factor, as well as assurances that he’d be utilised as a key creative spark both centrally and out wide.

It would be a huge coup for the Blues if they can tie him down to a long-term deal in England, but if not they’ll want to cash in on him with just one year left of his current stay.
