SportNorwich keen on permanent deal for Jordan Rhodes
Rhodes open to permanent Norwich move
Sheffield Wednesday striker Jordan Rhodes is open to completing a permanent move to Norwich this summer. Rhodes spent the season on loan to Norwich, as the club clinched the Championship title – finishing the season on 94 points, five clear of Sheffield United and 11 clear of Leeds. According to The Pink’Un, Norwich want to make his loan move a permanent one and that Rhodes, himself, is keen to stay. The report also claims that Norwich had an option-to-buy in the loan arrangement, but are now hoping that they can snap him up for a reduced fee. Rhodes’ contract at Sheffield Wednesday expires at the end of next season and is reportedly on big wages.
Norwich City are keen to sign Sheffield Wednesday striker Jordan Rhodes on a permanent deal this summer.
Norwich are interested in landing Rhodes on a permanent basis, following his loan spell at the club.
Rhodes joined Norwich on loan from Sheffield Wednesday in the summer of 2018, with many expecting him to be Daniel Farke’s first-choice striker.
Instead, Teemu Pukki enjoyed one of the best seasons the Championship has ever seen – scoring 29 goals and assisting nine in the league – leaving Rhodes to play a supporting role.
Despite his limited minutes on the pitch, Rhodes made some telling contributions to Norwich’s promotion – with two goals in a 2-1 win over Aston Villa, the equaliser against West Brom and the equaliser against Millwall in the 4-3 win.
The report claims that Norwich are hoping to sign Rhodes “on the cheap”, having already paid Sheffield Wednesday a £1m loan fee.
Norwich and Watford make offers for Sergi Enrich.
Norwich City and Watford have both made proposals for soon to be out-of-contract striker Sergi Enrich. According to El Diario Vasco, relayed in an article by Sport Witness, both the Canaries and the Hornets have made ‘proposals’ for the player, who is thought to be keen on a move to the Premier League this summer. The 29-year-old’s current deal with La Liga outfit Eibar expires at the end of the current campaign and the Spaniard has yet to respond to the club’s new offer. Enrich has plied his trade with Eibar since 2015, scoring 30 times in La Liga during that time.
