Benfica join race to sign Liverpool Moreno Benfica have joined the race to sign Liverpool defender Alberto Moreno this summer. As reported by The Mirror, Benfica and Barcelona are both interested in signing the left-back at the end of the season. Leicester target Andre Almeida is reportedly set to sign a new contract with Benfica.

According to Portuguese media outlet O Jogo, cited by Sport Witness, Benfica are set to tie both their full-backs down to new deals, with the pair not looking likely to leave the club this summer.

Despite pen yet to be put to paper, the club is adamant that the players will remain at Estadio da Luz, even though there has been plenty of interest from English clubs.
