Benfica join race to sign Liverpool Moreno Benfica have joined the race to sign Liverpool defender Alberto Moreno this summer. As reported by The Mirror, Benfica and Barcelona are both interested in signing the left-back at the end of the season. Moreno is poised to leave Liverpool at the end of his current contract, which expires next month. The club have not offered him a new deal, with Andy Robertson the undisputed number one left-back at Anfield over the past two seasons under Jurgen Klopp. Moreno has made only two Premier League appearances this season and made 90 in total since joining the club from Sevilla in 2014.

Liverpool midfielder Sheyi Ojo is set to sign a new contract to commit his future to the club.

According to The Telegraph, Ojo will put pen to paper on a new deal before going out on loan again next season.

The midfielder is currently out on loan to French side Stade de Reims in Ligue 1, where he has failed to score or assist in 15 appearances this season.

Ojo spent last season on loan to Fulham in the Championship, where he found the back of the net four times in 22 games as the club won the play-offs and secured promotion to the Premier League.

The report claims that Rangers are interested in signing him on loan as Steven Gerrard looks to take another Liverpool player to Scotland following the success of Ryan Kent this year.

Ojo has made 13 senior appearances for Liverpool since coming through the academy system and making his debut in 2016.
