Norwich City have reportedly stepped up their efforts to sign Burnley midfield target Harrison Reed from Southampton. Clarets boss Sean Dyche has been keeping tabs on the 24-year-old over the past season as he scored three goals in 36 appearances for local rivals Blackburn in the Championship.

Southampton midfielder Harrison Reed is a target for Premier League club Burnley, according to claims from The Daily Mail.

Following a successful season on loan at Blackburn Rovers in the Championship, the 24-year-old appears to have piqued the interest of Clarets boss Sean Dyche.

Norwich City, who recently secured promotion to the top flight, are understood by The Daily Mail to also be keen on bringing Reed back to Carrow Road.

The Saints’ academy graduate spent that 2017/18 season on loan with the Canaries, where he operated in both his natural central midfield role and as a right wing-back.

Reed also featured on the right flank for Blackburn throughout his season under Tony Mowbray, and interest ahead of next season is gathering upon his return to St Mary’s Stadium.

Burnley and Norwich are both claimed to have been put on red alert regarding the midfielder’s availability, with Ralph Hasenhuttl reportedly considering allowing him to go out and receive regular game time elsewhere this summer.

Liverpool reportedly set to face Burnley on the opening day.
Liverpool will reportedly start the new Premier League campaign away to Burnley. According to leaked images published by the Mirror, the Reds will kick off their new campaign on Saturday night against Sean Dyche’s men. The report, which includes a leaked image showing a full programme of games, claims that the Champions League winners will face Burnley at 17:30 and will be shown live on BT Sport. The leaked fixtures are unverified and are listed as subject to change, but Burnley away would by no means by the easiest of games for the Reds to open their campaign with.
