Leicester to demand £60m for Spurs target Maddison

Leicester to demand £60m for Spurs target Maddison Tottenham Hotspur have learned the asking price for Leicester City’s James Maddison this summer. Football Insider have been told that the Foxes will demand at least £60m for the creative midfielder after Tottenham’s interest in the player emerged on Wednesday. Maddison made the move to the King Power Stadium last summer from Norwich City, with the deal costing the Foxes £22.5m. And it appears as if Tottenham will have to potentially treble that fee to secure the services of the highly-rated youngster over the summer. The playmaker enjoyed a fine debut season in the Premier League, creating the most chances in the division.

Maddison is one of Leicester’s key players and was named as the club’s Young Player of the Season at their end of year awards last month, with Ricardo Pereira picking up Player of the Season.

The report claims that Leicester are now looking to double his salary from £50k-per-week to £100k-per-week in an attempt to keep him at the club, with the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham circling.

Maddison enjoyed an impressive first season in the Premier League with Leicester as he racked up seven goals and seven assists from midfield.

James Maddison keen on Manchester United talks.
Leicester City’s James Maddison has reportedly asked for face-to-face with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ahead of a possible summer switch to Manchester United. According to Ian McGarry of the Transfer Window Podcast, cited by Caught Offside, the playmaker is currently focused on the Under-21 European Championships with England but will look to hold talks with Solskjaer after the tournament’s completion. The former Norwich man is valued at £60m by Leicester officials and looks set to sit down with the Old Trafford manager regarding his possible role and position will be in the United side.
