SportSouthampton icon Le Tissier thinks defensive shake-up could help next season
Southampton linked with move for James Justin
Southampton have made an approach to sign James Justin from Luton Town this summer, according to a report from Football Insider. The Saints are said to be among a host of clubs who have made offers to recruit the defender, who was exceptional as his side were promoted from League One to the Championship this season. Justin made 43 appearances in the third tier of English football this term and contributed with three goals and eight assists from a wide defensive position.
Matthew Paul Le Tissier (/ləˈtɪsieɪ/; born 14 October 1968) is a football television presenter and former professional footballer. He represented England at international level.
But Le Tissier , who spent his entire 16-year professional playing career with the Saints, believes his former employers have the resources to resist "But hopefully he can have a great season for us and help us climb the table first before he leaves." Van Dijk himself still thinks a January exit is possible.

Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier thinks that his former club need to strengthen their left-back position in order to improve the team ahead of the 2019/20 Premier League season.
Speaking to the Daily Echo, Le Tissier claims he doesn’t think that left-back Ryan Bertrand is playing like he was when he first joined Southampton and thinks bosses should possibly start looking for a replacement.
“I think the last couple of seasons Ryan hasn’t been as dynamic as he was in the first seasons he was here.”
He also went on to say that he doesn’t think that Matt Targett is a permanent replacement for Bertrand.
Milan join Southampton in race to sign Djenepo
Italian giants AC Milan have joined Southampton in the race to land Moussa Djenepo this summer. According to Sports Media Set, Milan are interested in a deal to sign the forward ahead of next season. They list him as one of 10 young stars that Milan are currently tracking, which suggests that he may not be one of their priority targets. The 20-year-old has been impressing for Standard Liege in Belgium this season, catching the eye of both Southampton and Milan in the process. Southampton have been heavily linked with Djenepo, with reports suggesting that the club are closing in on a deal to sign him.

“I think Matt has struggled a little bit if I’m honest in that position. I’m not sure if he is a long-term replacement for Ryan in that left-back role.”
However, Targett is still only 23-years-old and Le Tissier thinks that perhaps he could be one for the future.
“He might kick on again because he is still young and still has improvement in him.”

Southampton have struggled in the Premier League for the past couple of season and have been fighting against relegation.
This year, when Ralph Hasenhuttl took over from Mark Hughes, he managed to keep them fighting and helped secure their position in the Premier League for next season.
However, a shake around in defence could help the Saints push on further as they look to improve next season.
Southampton's interest in Francois Kamano returns.
Southampton are still interested in signing Bordeaux forward Francois Kamano this summer, according to TuttoMercatoWeb, via Sport Witness. Saints have already been eyeing up the Guinea international, showing an interest early last season and up until January. A deal never materialised, however, but there is a chance that Kamano’s future may still lie at St Mary’s. The report states that Southampton are ‘working with the player’s agent to bring him to the Premier League next season’. It does appear to be a slightly flimsy link, however, so it could be a story not to read too much into.
