Chelsea could benefit from Hazard departure according to Sky Sports reporter
Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth believes Chelsea could benefit from allowing Eden Hazard to leave for Real Madrid this summer. The Belgian has been the key man for Chelsea in recent campaign’s, but even more so this season with his 19 goals and 16 assists in all competitions helping the Blues finish third in the league and reach the Carabao Cup and Europa League final’s respectively. It appears almost certain that Hazard is on his way to Real this summer, however Sheth believes his departure could actually be a positive for the Blues, and drew comparison’s to how Manchester United benefited from allowing Ruud van Nistelrooy to leave in 2006, the Express report via Sky
Chelsea have confirmed that Eden Hazard has left the club to join Real Madrid, in a deal believed to be worth £88million.
In a statement released by the club, they confirm the Belgian has ended his seven-year stay at Stamford Bridge, in a deal that has been expected for some time.
It was very much a matter of when and not if Hazard would complete his move to Spain, where he will now be working with his boyhood idol, Zinedine Zidane.
Florentino Perez finally confirms Eden Hazard interest
The Eden Hazard transfer saga has taken another twist in the tale, with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez confirming their interest in the winger. For many seasons now, Hazard has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, but the Spanish giants have been unable to sign the Belgium winger. However, for the first time in this ongoing battle for the winger who has been labelled as one of the best in the world, president Perez has admitted he is interested in signing Chelsea’s talisman this summer. Talking to the Spanish media, cited by the Daily Mail, Perez said: “I am very interested in him coming to Real Madrid and I am very hopeful that he will come this year.
Hazard has been very public in his admiration of the Frenchman and a move seemed inevitable following his recent return to the dugout.
Similarly, Hazard was very open with the Chelsea supporters after the Europa League win against Arsenal, in which he admitted that ‘I think it’s a goodbye’, as he signed off with two goals to leave the Blues with a European trophy.
During his time at the club he made over 350 appearances and scored 110 goals for the Blues.

Chelsea winger Eden Hazard has now agreed personal terms with Real Madrid ahead of his move to La Liga. According to The Evening Standard, Hazard has accepted an offer from Real which would see him double his current Chelsea wages. The report claims that, if he completes his move to Real Madrid, he will be earning £400k-per-week in Spain – compared to the £200k-per-week he currently earns at Chelsea. Hazard is expected to officially complete his transfer to Real over the next week, in a deal which could rise to £130m. The initial fee is said to be in the region of £88m, with a further £42m in add-ons.
