Emerson agent confirms client will remain with Chelsea Emerson will remain at Chelsea this summer, the defender’s agent has confirmed. As reported by a Tuttomercatoweb exclusive, Emerson’s agent Leonardo Cornacini played down speculation that his client was keen on a move to Italy, with Juventus, Milan and Inter all said to be keen. As quoted by Tuttomercatoweb, Cornacini said: “He [Emerson] still has years of contract, he is happy and the club is happy to keep him, we are sure that the future is in London.” When asked about how his season with Chelsea went, Cornacini said: “Well, at first a bit difficult.” “There was competition from Marcos Alonso, another great player.

Emerson Palmieri has refused to rule out a summer exit from Chelsea, but admits he is happy at the club.

The 24-year-old ended his first season at Stamford Bridge impressively, making the left-back spot his own.

He started the Europa League final win over Arsenal last month, which Chelsea won 4-1 in Baku.

Having initially had to play second fiddle to Marcos Alonso, Emerson ousted the Spaniard, appearing 27 times in all competitions.

Despite his good form, the Italy international has been linked with a move away from west London this summer, with Juventus tipped to sign him.

Chelsea want to keep Emerson

Chelsea want to keep Emerson Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri may be on the brink of an immediate return to Serie A, but Emerson may not follow him back to Italy after all. Reports from Calcio Mercato, who cite La Gazzetta dello Sport, have suggested that despite interest from Juventus, Emerson will not be heading out the exit door any time soon. This comes after Chelsea’s potential transfer embargo which would stop them from signing any players during the next two windows. Emerson has built up the trust of Chelsea fans over the second half of the season and started to be picked in favour of fellow left-back Marcos Alonso.

Maurizio Sarri looks set to be joining Juve from Chelsea, which is perhaps why the move is being mooted.

Emerson played for Italy in their 2-1 win over Bosnia on Tuesday, and speaking to reporters after the game, he remained coy over his future:

“I have a contract with Chelsea and I am happy there, especially after the Europa League [victory].”

“At this time I haven’t received any offers. Everyone is saying [Allianz Stadium could be my new home] however I am very relaxed.”

“I will continue to work hard and not focus on these things.”

Should the former Roma man leave Chelsea, reinforcements would be required at left-back.

Alonso himself could leave in the coming weeks, but even if he stays, his poor form in 2019/20 highlights the need for an upgrade.

Chelsea not willing to sanction Alonso exit until new manager arrives.
Chelsea will only allow Marcos Alonso to leave the club once a new manager arrives at Stamford Bridge. According to GOAL, Atletico Madrid are keen to bring Alonso to Spain this summer, but Chelsea want a manager in place before sanctioning the move. Maurizio Sarri is being heavily linked with the Juventus job, which would leave Chelsea without a manager. The report claims that Alonso is keen to return to Spain after a difficult season at Stamford Bridge, as he lost his place to Emerson towards the end of the campaign. Alonso made 31 appearances in the Premier League and scored twice in four Europa League games for Sarri’s side.
