AC Milan eye up summer bid for Dejan Lovren

AC Milan eye up summer bid for Dejan Lovren AC Milan are interested in signing Dejan Lovren this summer, according to Gianluca Di Marzio. The Serie A club are looking to have a squad overhaul, with Marco Giampaolo taking charge as manager and Frederic Massara set to become sporting director. Lovren is someone they see as ideal to bring in, despite an injury-plagued season at Liverpool. The 29-year-old featured just 18 times in all competitions, playing a lesser role than many as the Reds won the Champions League. It is a move that could potentially appeal to Lovren, considering he is now undoubtedly Liverpool’s fourth-choice centre-back.

Dejan Lovren (Croatian pronunciation: [ dějan lǒʋren]; born 5 July 1989) is a Croatian professional footballer who plays as a centre back for Premier League club Liverpool and the Croatia national team.

Liverpool are set to demand £25m to let central defender Dejan Lovren leave the club this summer.

According to The Times journalist Paul Joyce, Liverpool will only sell Lovren for a minimum of £25m.

Joyce claims that there has been no contact from AC Milan, but they do rate Lovren highly – which suggests that there could be interest later in the window.

Lovren fell out of favour in the second half of the campaign, although it could be put down to an injury he suffered in the FA Cup against Wolves in January.

Joel Matip took his place in the team and became a regular fixture alongside Virgil Van Dijk in the defence, leaving Lovren to end the season watching on from the bench for Liverpool.

The four questions about Liverpool's squad that need answering this summer.
When a team achieves 97 points in the Premier League and wins the Champions League, it’s fair to say that there aren’t many drastic changes that need to be made to their squad, especially as it looks like no major players are actively pushing for a move. So, for Liverpool, the questions they need to answer in terms of their squad makeup aren’t plentiful, but they are important. The Reds will want to make another push for the league title and that won’t be easy, such is the brilliance of Manchester City.Furthermore, the Reds have a European Cup to defend and they’ll look to do better in the domestic cups too.
