Man City enter race for Liverpool target Fekir

Man City enter race for Liverpool target Fekir Manchester City have reportedly joined the race for long-term Liverpool target Nabil Fekir, ahead of the Frenchman’s inevitable Lyon departure this summer. The World Cup winner was close to moving to Anfield last summer in a deal worth more than £50million, but the transfer fell through at the final hurdle due to the results of a medical. Fekir has confirmed he intends to leave Lyon this summer though, which has seemingly placed some of Europe’s top clubs on red alert. According to Express Sport, Man City have asked the Ligue 1 club to be kept updated about Fekir’s situation over the transfer window.

Lyon have urged Nabil Fekir to make a decision over his future before the winter break. Reports suggest Fekir could move on at the end of the season with Bayern Munich and Chelsea keen, while it remains to be seen if Liverpool will reignite their interest .

The breakdown in Liverpool ’ s pursuit of Lyon attacking midfielder Nabil Fekir is a blow, but there are alternatives for Jurgen Klopp to consider. Klopp’ s side pulled out of a deal with Lyon due to concerns over his knee, and though they could revive their interest on different terms this remains to be seen.

Liverpool are reportedly looking to go back in for Lyon’s Nabil Fekir this summer, according to reports in France.

As per French outlet Le Progres, the Reds could try their luck once again this year after missing out on a deal to sign Fekir during the previous summer window.

The report claims that initial contact about a deal has been made, but the club are not willing to meet the €50 million price tag.

Fekir’s failed move to Anfield was one of the stories of the summer last year, with the Frenchman coming ever so close to joining the Reds.

To this day, it has not been confirmed as to why the move fell through after reports emerged on social media that appeared to show the player in Liverpool colours, taking part in official interviews for the club’s TV channel.

Fekir has reportedly been told he will be able to leave the Ligue 1 side this summer but Jean Michel Aulas has proven to be a tricky negotiator in the past, meaning any deal will be difficult for the Reds to pull off.

AC Milan approach Lyon for Liverpool target Fekir.
Liverpool look set to face competition from AC Milan should they pursue a move for Lyon’s Nabil Fekir this summer. The Frenchman’s future with the Ligue 1 side has come under intense scrutiny with the midfielder’s contract set to expire next summer, and Liverpool have long been linked with a move for the 25-year-old. However, according to Get French Football News, Milan look set to rival the Reds for the midfielder with the Serie A giants having made an approach to Lyon over the availability of Fekir this summer.
