The Patriots are not happy about the Texans' pursuit of their director of player personnel.

In fact, according to ESPN, New England has filed tampering charges with the NFL against the Texans for their attempted hire of Nick Caserio.

The NFL will now begin investigating, according to the report.

Houston has long wanted Caserio to be part of its organization.

The team asked for permission to interview the 43-year-old last year after general manager Rick Smith stepped down, but the Patriots declined.

Then, after firing Smith's replacement, Brian Gaine, last week, Houston again asked the Patriots for permission to speak to Caserio.

The Patriots reportedly had not gotten back to the Texans as of Tuesday and there seemed to be no movement on that front anywhere.

Until now, as New England is apparently very miffed at whatever Houston is trying to do.

Whether or not the Texans have to pay a punishment for tampering, the fact remains that the Patriots really do not want to part ways with Caserio.
