Arsenal's fixture list revealed: Where are the key games? The Premier League fixtures have been announced and teams up and down the country have been finding out what is in store for them next season, but where are the key games? Although dates and times are subject to change, we now have a good idea of what is to come for the Gunners. As reported by the Daily Mail, Unai Emery’s men start the season away at Newcastle. It’s a good opening day for the Gunners as they look to kick off their season with a positive result. By no means the easiest of grounds to travel to, but it’s certainly an opportunity for Emery and his side to start the season as they mean to go on.

Newcastle United will begin the 2019/20 Premier League campaign at home to Arsenal on August 11th.

The Magpies began the previous season at home to the Gunners’ rivals Tottenham Hotspur and will look for a better opening weekend this time around.

Following the Magpies’ opening fixture against Unai Emery’s side, they will travel to newly-promoted Norwich City before making a first trip to Tottenham Hotspur’s new stadium on August 24th, ending the opening month with a home game against Watford.

Things don’t get any easier for the Magpies, with Rafael Benitez’s side travelling to Anfield and the King Power Stadium in September.

West Ham's fixture list revealed: What are the games to look out for? West Ham face a tough start to the Premier League season as they host champions Manchester City on matchday one. Pep Guardiola’s side are looking for a third straight Premier League title and will start their quest at the London Stadium on Saturday 10th August. The busy Christmas period will see the Hammers play six games during December, including two London derbies with Arsenal at home on December 7th and Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Boxing Day.

And the fixture list is a particular point of contention for fans having to regularly travel the length of the country to watch their team. The Premier League have declined to comment on why there are no head-to-head games between big clubs on the opening or final weekend.

The Christmas period could be where Newcastle pick up some valuable points, with Newcastle facing Sheffield United, Southampton, Burnley, Crystal Palace and Everton, along with a difficult Boxing Day trip to Old Trafford.

The run-in looks tricky for Benitez and his side, with the Magpies taking on Manchester City, Tottenham and Liverpool in the final five fixtures, so the Magpies will be hoping they have their Premier League safety secured long before May.

Benitez’s side face Jurgen Klopp’s Reds on the final day on May 17th, so Newcastle fans will be hoping they will be fighting for a place in the top half on the final day over battling to avoid the drop.

Evaluating Norwich's 2019/20 Premier League fixtures.
Norwich will face a huge ask on the opening day of the season, with the Canaries facing a daunting task of visiting the reigning Champions League winners Liverpool at Anfield. Famously a place Norwich have struggled at down the years, the prospect of facing the reigning European Champions will certainly be a daunting one. It doesn’t get easier for the Canaries after this, with Norwich hosting Newcastle, Chelsea and the reigning Premier League champions Manchester City in their first three home games.
