Premier League fixtures were due to be released on Thursday later this week, however, they have supposedly been leaked online a day early – revealing a full programme of games. Chelsea’s fixture list has been released in full and despite the confusion about who will be in the dugout next season, supporters now know how their season will pan out.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Chelsea start the season away at Manchester United in what is the standout fixture of the opening round of games.

Chelsea fans will remember the last time that they started the season against United, back in 2004 under Jose Mourinho where they want on to win the league. Could history repeat itself?

Despite that, it’s a flattering opening month for the Blues, with games against newly-promoted duo Norwich and Sheffield United.

Blues to face Southampton as opening day fixtures are leaked

Blues to face Southampton as opening day fixtures are leaked It looks like the 2019/20 Premier League opening day fixtures may have been leaked this morning, as per a report from the Mirror. Five-time Premier League champions Chelsea could be kicking off their season with a trip to St Mary’s as they will reportedly be facing Ralph Hasenhuttl’s Southampton side. At this stage, these fixtures are unverified and could well change when an official announcement is made. The potential meeting with Southampton will be the Blues’ first Premier League game without star man Eden Hazard after he joined Spanish giants Real Madrid for a reported fee of £130 million.

Be it Frank Lampard or someone else in the dugout, they have a reasonable start to the season and should use it as a brilliant opportunity to build up some momentum in their efforts to close the gap on the top two.

Christmas throws up some challenges for the Blues, with a London derby against Spurs on 21 December.

They then face Southampton and Arsenal to finish off 2019. It’s by no means the easiest of games for the Blues over the festive period, but it could have certainly been trickier.

The end of season run-in could be considered favourable again, it sees the Blues come up against Norwich and Sheffield United before the last two games against Liverpool and Wolves.
