Should Celtic take a gamble on Liam Lindsay?

Should Celtic take a gamble on Liam Lindsay? With both Dedryck Boyata and Filip Benkovic leaving Celtic this summer it is clear Neil Lennon will have to bring in reinforcements at the heart of the defence. Celtic have been long-term admirers of Liam Lindsay who could be on his way out of Barnsley this summer. While many Celtic fans have shown apprehension when the young man was linked with the club in the past, some believe the 23-year-old could be the man to partner Kristoffer Ajer at the heart of the defence as Lennon’s men begin the defence of their title. This season Lindsay has shown his defensive qualities as he played his part in the club taking 21 clean sheets from 41 games.

Liam Moore was at the top of his game heading into the summer of 2017. As a result, Brendan Rodgers, a manager renowned for spotting underrated talents a mile off, was keen to bring Moore to Celtic , with the Daily Record stating that a £5 million move was being considered.

It looks like a move to Celtic Park won’t be happening for Reading’s 26-year-old English defender Liam Moore.

He has reportedly been priced out of a move to Scottish giants Celtic this summer, according to local Reading-based journalist Courtney Friday.

Earlier this week, the Reading Chronicle reported that Scottish champions Celtic were renewing their interest in the English defender as it’s not the first time the Hoops have been linked with a move for Moore.

The English defender appeared 40 times in what was a catastrophic 2018/19 season for the Royals, as they finished two places above the relegation zone in the Championship.

Moore is dearly loved by the Reading fans, making 124 league appearances over the course of his three-year stay at the club, as well as captaining the side to safety last season. Moore was also named Fans’ Player of the Year for the 2017/18 season.

Turnbull's Celtic move thrown into doubt following medical.
David Turnbull’s move to Celtic has been thrown into doubt after an issue arose during the midfielder’s medical. The Hoops had agreed a £3million deal with Motherwell for the 19-year-old last week, with Turnbull reportedly agreeing on a four-year contract with the club. However, according to The Herald, the move could now be called off due to an unspecified issue with the midfielder’s medical. Celtic and Motherwell are now said to be in talks with regards to how to move forwards, and the report suggests the transfer could be in “serious jeopardy.
