Jeremy Lin acknowledged the contributions DeMar DeRozan made to Toronto on Friday.

Lin, 30, became the first Asian-American to win an NBA championship Thursday after the Raptors' Game 6 victory over Warriors in the Finals. He took to Twitter and gave thanks to DeRozan for the "positive impact" he had on the franchise.

"Having lived in Toronto last 4 months, Ive seen by far more @DeMar_DeRozan jerseys than anyone else," he wrote. "Dont rly know Demar personally but the positive impact he had is so obvious. Hope he gets credit for laying the foundation and paving the way!"

He played for seven NBA teams before signing with Toronto in 2018-19. While he appeared in just 31 games as a Raptor, it appears like DeRozan's obvious influence had a lasting effect on him.
