Brown: McLaren starting to adopt similar qualities to Mercedes

Brown: McLaren starting to adopt similar qualities to Mercedes McLaren Formula 1 CEO Zak Brown believes the team is beginning to possess qualities similar to those that have made Mercedes a dominant force in the sport. The Woking-based outfit’s uncompetitive end to 2018 forced it to incorporate a major restructure over the winter, with new technical chief James Key and team principal Andreas Seidl brought on board. Mercedes has claimed five world championship doubles on the bounce since 2014, and Brown sees the team heading in same direction as the Silver Arrows after being left encouraged by the impact of the changes.

Celtic captain Scott Brown has spoken out about his concerns over player burnout after the Scottish champions returned to pre-season training.

The Hoops played their last game of the 2018/19 season on the 25th May, just 24 days ago, but are already back preparing for next season with their Champions League qualifier set to take place between the 9th and 10th July.

This has led to Brown, 33, criticising the football calendar in Scotland, telling the BBC:

“For me, the Scottish FA could help us out a little bit, they can look at the fixture list. It’s almost a full 12 months or a year now and no holiday time.”

Shinnie labels Brown as the best player he's ever played against

Shinnie labels Brown as the best player he's ever played against Celtic captain Scott Brown received quite the compliment from former Aberdeen captain Graeme Shinnie. In a Q&A cited by Daily Record, Shinnie said that the Hoops legend is the best player he’s ever played against. When asked who was the best opponent he has come up against, Shinnie said: “I always liked to play against Scott Brown in the middle.” “Good games, games that I enjoyed. Similar kind of players.” “Both liked to battle, both left it all out on the pitch so always a game I enjoyed.” The hard battling midfielder has won eight Scottish Championships and five Scottish League Cups during his time with the club.

US officials investigated Brown after he was accused of inappropriate behaviour at a party in Samoa and was alleged by one woman to have stared at her breasts.

Burnout is a series of high-speed racing games for the PlayStation 2, GameCube, Xbox, PlayStation Portable, Nintendo DS, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 game consoles.

“It’s all about us making sure we keep our bodies in good condition and that we’re ready to hit the start of the season flying.”

Some players, such as Callum McGregor, were also involved in the EURO 2020 qualifiers and played as recently as a week ago in Scotland’s loss to Belgium.

That fact wasn’t lost on Brown, who commented:

“Callum McGregor played 69 games and he has a week-and-a-half off, so it’s hard to get everyone balanced off [in regards to fitness levels].”

“For us in the early games, it’s about making sure we’re up to scratch. It also means less running in pre-season because you’re straight into the games.”

“Here’s hoping in the next couple of years they can help us out. It would help most clubs”

The Scottish league season is due to restart on the first weekend of August, by which point Celtic could have already completed two double-legged European ties.

Brown says there is no title race this season.
Scott Brown insists he is not worried about any possible title race this coming season and believes Celtic have it in the bag once again. Brown has been a crucial part of Celtic’s system over the last 10 years, becoming one of the club’s best players and a natural leader within the side. No player in that dressing room knows more about being a Celtic player than Brown himself. He has been through all sorts of competition as a Bhoy and thinks that this particular Rangers side are not close enough to rival the Hoops. Speaking about a potential title race, as reported by the Daily Record, Brown said: “I’ve heard it all before. Every season.
