David Ortiz has hit another milestone in his recovery process.

In a statement released Saturday by the Red Sox, David Ortiz's wife, Tiffany, confirmed her husband has been moved out of the intensive care unit at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

"He remains in good condition and continues to recover under the care of Drs. David King and Larry Ronan," the statement read, in part.

Ortiz, 43, was at a Santo Domingo bar in his native Dominican Republic the night of June 9 when a suspect shot him at close range. Thus far, 11 people have been taken into custody in connection with the shooting.
