Connell has been heavily linked with a move to join the Hoops this summer and he has made his desire to one day play for Celtic publically known.

The midfielder is out of contract this summer and Celtic would only need to pay a small fee in the region of £250,000 for the player, in what would be a similar deal to the one that saw Moussa Dembele join the Hoops from Fulham.

The likes of Tottenham and Southampton have also expressed an interest, but the player would not be as cheap to Premier League suitors.

Celtic have been known to invite players to the club before a deal is completed and have done the same with Rekeem Harper and Christopher Jullien already this summer.
