Italian club Bologna have reportedly made an approach for West Ham defender Angelo Ogbonna. The 31-year old Italy international is being targeted to return to Serie A, after having spent four seasons with the Hammers in the Premier League. The centre-back previously played for Torino and Juventus in Italy’s top flight before making the move to England. According to Il Resto del Carlino, as reported by Football Italia, Bologna coach Sinisa Mihajlovic has identified Ogbonna as being a key centre-back target to increase his defensive options, with the West Ham player having the necessary experience to fulfil the role.

According to a report from, the former Sampdoria star is being lined up for a return to Serie A this summer as interest in his signature begins to increase.
Obiang could be on his way out of the London Stadium with Manuel Pellegrini continuing to construct his squad ahead of his second full season in charge of the club.
Bologna, as per the claims from Calciomercato, are on the lookout for a new holding midfielder and have identified the West Ham man as an ‘alternative’ option for the time being.
The Italian club have set their sights on Alfred Duncan as their primary target, but should they fail in their efforts to lure the player away from Sassuolo, they look set to turn to Obiang.
West Ham have already been busy in the transfer market, recruiting three new faces in David Martin, Roberto and Pablo Fornals.

The Hammers have reportedly offered £45m plus Pedro Obiang for the Italian international, but the Serie A side have rejected the bid as they have no desire to sell the forward at this time. Whether West Ham decide to make another bid for the Torino captain remains to be seen but the Serie A side will take some convincing if they are to part ways with their skipper.
