Celtic manager Neil Lennon has confirmed that midfielder Youssouf Mulumbu will be leaving the club this summer.

Lennon has revealed that he will not be given another chance at Celtic Park, with the club activating a break clause in his contract to release him on a free.

Mulumbu signed a two-year deal with Celtic after joining the club last summer, but only made three appearances for the Hoops.

As quoted by Football Scotland, Lennon said this:

“Mulumbu is a free.”

“He is away, so there is not a future for him here.”

Lennon was speaking after Celtic’s 2-1 friendly victory over Wiener SC, with Mulumbu now set to find a new club for next season.

The former West Brom and Norwich midfielder spent the second half of last season on loan to Kilmarnock, helping them to qualify for the Europa League – having also played for the club before his move to Celtic.
