Zaha tells Palace he wants Arsenal move - is he the club's missing link? Wilfried Zaha has told Crystal Palace that he wants to join Arsenal, his boyhood club, this summer – so can he prove to be the missing link to Gunners’ attack? According to the Daily Mail, the Ivorian international is keen to complete a move across London this summer, having supported the Gunners as a youngster. It has been widely reported that Zaha is among Arsenal’s top attacking targets and could be the man to inject some creativity into the Gunners’ attacking options.

ARSENAL have bid £40million for Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha - whose "dream" is to play for his boyhood club. But Arsenal chiefs face a headache with other reports claiming they were left facing the prospect of selling striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to fund the move for Zaha .

Arsenal are desperate to sign Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha . That’s according to BBC reporter David Ornstein, who claims the Ivory Coast international Arsenal boss Unai Emery saw an initial bid of £15m rejected by Celtic but he is hopeful this improved bid will help the Gunners secure the transfer.

Arsenal have the funds to potentially meet Crystal Palace’s £80 million valuation of Wilfried Zaha, according to Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol.

The Gunners are thought to be keen on bringing in Zaha this summer, seeing him as one of their primary transfer targets.

A new wide player is wanted and the Palace talisman would be a big signing for the north Londoners.

They have only bid £40 million to date, however, which the Eagles swiftly rejected.

They rate Zaha at double that amount, which reports have claimed could be a potential stumbling block for Arsenal.

Arsenal confident Zaha will be able to leave Crystal Palace this summer

Arsenal confident Zaha will be able to leave Crystal Palace this summer Arsenal are reportedly ready to make an offer to sign Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha, and are not put off by the club’s £80million price tag. The Ivory Coast international, as reported earlier today, has asked to leave the Eagles this summer with Arsenal one of many clubs said to be interested in signing the 26-year old. And despite Palace’s price tag being just under double Arsenal’s entire budget for the summer, the North London club feel confident that they can land the versatile forward because of Zaha’s history as a boyhood Gunners fan.

Arsenal are desperate to sign Wilfried Zaha this summer but Crystal Palace are reluctant to lose their prized asset. The report goes on to claim that Arsenal will turn their attention to Yacine Brahimi if they fail to secure a deal for Zaha . Brahimi is available on a free transfer from Porto and is seen as a

Arsenal have seen their £40 million (m) bid for Wilfried Zaha branded “a liberty” by former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan. Arsenal have already been warned that they may not have the funds to land Zaha , with there other areas of their squad considered to be in greater need of

Despite rumours that they are lacking the money to up their bid, Solhekol told The Transfer Show that this is untrue, although £70 million is their limit with Zaha:

“Interestingly, we have read that Arsenal’s transfer budget this summer, because they have missed out on the Champions League, is just £45m, plus what they can raise from selling players.”

“We have kept reading that, £45m. People are thinking ‘why are Arsenal trying to sign a player who Crystal Palace are saying is worth £80m, when they only have £45m?’”

“What I have been told is that it suits Arsenal that people think they only have £45m, because when they get into negotiations over a player, the selling club is going to think Arsenal don’t have much money.”

“What I have been told is that this is a bit of a smokescreen and Arsenal can go up to £70m to buy Wilfried Zaha. £70m is the point at which they would walk away. A deal that would be worth £70m in total.”

It will be interesting to see if Arsenal up their bid for Zaha significantly, or end up looking at alternatives.

Palace are desperate to keep hold of the 26-year-old, but his heart is believed to be set on a move to the Emirates.

Arsenal nowhere near Zaha value – Hodgson.
Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson says Wilfried Zaha will be going nowhere until Arsenal significantly increase their bid.
