Southampton linked with Borussia Dortmund midfielder Sebastian Rode Southampton have been linked with a surprise swoop for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Sebastian Rode. According to claims from German news outlet Sport1, as cited in a report from Fussball Transfers, the former Bayern Munich man could leave Westfalenstadion this summer. Rode spent last season on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt and turned in some composed displays as Adi Hutter’s side enjoyed a successful campaign both in the Bundesliga and the Europa League. Borussia Dortmund have reportedly identified the midfielder as a player who they are looking to sell this summer, though, and an offer worth a meagre €5 million could be enough to convince them into a sale.

Southampton have identified Celta Vigo winger Pione Sisto , who has been named in Denmark's provisional World Cup squad on Monday, as a potential summer replacement. He has a £36million buy out clause. Sofiane Boufal revealed on French TV his desire to make a transfer and return to Ligue 1.

Southampton have been tentatively linked with a move to sign Pione Sisto from Celta Vigo.

The Denmark international was underwhelming in a problematic season for the Spanish club, who required a fightback late in the season to avoid relegation from La Liga.

Sisto made only 25 appearances for Celta in the top flight last term, scoring twice and assisting only one goal.

According to Faro de Vigo, a news outlet local to the club, the 24-year-old could be offloaded this summer, and Southampton are named as a possible destination.

The report states that Sisto’s lack of involvement last season was a cause of ‘depression and dangerous nutritional habits’, which has led Celta to pursue an opportunity to allow their winger to seek pastures new.

Getafe named as potential suitors for Carrillo Southampton striker Guido Carrillo has emerged as a possible target for Getafe, according to a report from AS. The Spanish news outlet reports that Mauricio Pellegrino’s Leganes still want the former AS Monaco man, but competition to secure his signature is gathering. Carrillo failed to score in his first and only half-season at Southampton to date following a £19 million move to the club during the January transfer window of 2018. The

Southampton were linked with the winger during his time at FC Midtjylland, where he enjoyed plenty of success in his homeland.

A move away from Celta appears to be a likely outcome for Sisto this summer, and with the player having evidently undertaken a difficult campaign on and off the pitch, a possible move to St Mary’s Stadium has been cited as a possibility.

The Saints have, however, recently tied up a deal for another winger, with Moussa Djenepo arriving from Standard Liege for £14 million.

Out of favour Austin forced to train with Southampton's Under 23 side.
Out of favour Southampton striker Charlie Austin has reportedly been told to train with the Under-23 side, according to Sky Sports. Austin has been placed on the Saints’ transfer list since the start of the summer after Ralph Hasenhuttl and his staff concluded that the former QPR forward was no longer part of their plans for the upcoming season. The forward initially planned to see out the last year of his contract at St Mary’s, snubbing interest from West Brom, but after the latest revelations, it appears that he is unlikely to remain at the club.
