Southampton-linked Kamano emerges as a Sevilla target

Southampton-linked Kamano emerges as a Sevilla target Southampton could face competition from Sevilla in the race to sign their reported long-term target Francois Kamano this summer, according to Calciomercato. The Saints were claimed to have come ‘close’ to wrapping up a transfer for the Bordeaux forward in January, and earlier this week, he was once again touted with a possible switch to St Mary’s Stadium. Kamano had a relatively productive season in France. From 37 appearances in Ligue 1, he was able to find the back of the net on 10 occasions, and he also chipped in with one goal from five of the six Europa League group stages matches that his side competed in.

Southampton and Bournemouth have once again been linked with Fiorentina goalkeeper Bartlomiej Dragowski.

Reports earlier on in the summer suggested that the Saints were not in the race to sign the shot-stopper despite speculation from the Italian media.

However, rumours regarding a possible move to St Mary’s Stadium have resurfaced. Tuttomercatoweb, as cited in a report from Football Italia, claims that Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side are keen to sign Dragowski.

The Poland Under-21 international impressed during a short-term loan at Empoli in the second half of last season, and he was believed to be set for a starting role at parent club Fiorentina ahead of next term.

The newly-promoted side are keen to secure new recruits following their return to the Premier League, and emerging claims suggest that the 29-year-old striker is on their radar. This may not be the case, though, with the recent report stating that Dragowski is keen to leave Stadio Artemio Franchi and move to the Premier League, with Southampton and Bournemouth both in the race.

The pair are understood to be willing to spend up to €15 million respectively to lure the 21-year-old to England, with Fiorentina now turning to Juventus goalkeeper Mattia Perin.

Southampton are prepared to sell Alex McCarthy and Fraser Forster this summer, indicating that if both do indeed secure moves away from the club, another goalkeeper could arrive.

However, having spent £13 million on signing Angus Gunn from Manchester City only last summer, it remains to be seen whether or not the club would be willing to splash a similar amount on another player in this position.
