In what was yet another competitive Midsummer Classic the American League took down the National League 4-3 to win its seventh straight All-Star Game.

These games are always competitive and this one was no exception, as every inning had a little bit of drama.

But what were the best moments? How about the worst performances?

Well, here's what we think they were.

Best, worst moments from the 2019 MLB All-Star Game

Best: Carlos Carrasco

It's been a heavy few weeks in the sports world. Tyler Skaggs died last week as did former Giants quarterback Jared Lorenzen. Cleveland wasn't immune from the tragedy, either, as Indians pitcher Carlos Carrasco announced he had been diagnosed with Leukemia.

Adam Thompson returned over ,000 on his MLB picks last season.

The 32-year-old is undergoing treatment for his condition, but he was reportedly considering waiting until after the year to start treatment because he felt he "owed it" to the team to do so. The team, though, convinced him otherwise. It was a tough blow to the Indians organization, but everyone in Cleveland stands behind him as he recovers.

At the All-Star Game in Cleveland on Tuesday, all of the Indians fans and players stood with the pitcher affectionately known as "Cookie" during the "Stand Up 2 Cancer" portion of the evening. Carrasco stood in foul territory with his All-Star teammates as they all had his name emblazoned on their cards. Even his former teammate Michael Brantley, who now plays with the Astros, had "Cookie" written on his.

It was a powerful moment and it stole the night.

Best: Astros accomplish rare feat

The American League featured four starters from Houston with Alex Bregman at third, Brantley in left, George Springer in right and Justin Verlander on the mound. Verlander got the night off to a great start with a perfect first inning, but it was the position players who stole the show.

Springer singled to lead off the game then Bregman got a base hit, as well, in the second inning. He was then driven in by Brantley to score the game's first run. Astros players actually had the first three hits of the game for the AL.

According to Stats by Stats, that is the first time in All-Star Game history that has happened.

Best: Luis Castillo's changeup

This one is simply for your viewing pleasure. Unless you're a Reds fan, or maybe one of a National League Central team, you probably don't know much about Cincinnati righty Luis Castillo. You might know his name and that he has been good this year, but you probably don't know his changeup. We'll just let you watch this one. This thing is flat-out nasty and deserves the spotlight, even if for just a moment.

Worst: Belli and Yeli

Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich and Dodgers outfielder Cody Bellinger are two of the brightest stars in the game and were primed to shine in the national spotlight in the All-Star game. But this weekend they didn't do much to get fringe fans excited about them.

First, Bellinger decided not to compete in the Home Run Derby and Yelich dropped out of it, depriving the event of two of the top home run hitters in the game. Then, when game time came, they combined to go 0 for 4 with three strikeouts. Bellinger's second at-bat was especially disappointing as he let a changeup down the middle of the plate go for a strikeout looking. Was it a pretty good pitch? Sure, but it's one Bellinger probably should have smoked.

Mike Trout has stepped up in the Midsummer Classic all throughout his career. Belli and Yeli didn't do that this week.

Worst: Dodgers All-Stars

It may seem like piling on, but consider this, the Dodgers gave up the first two runs of the game (Clayton Kershaw, Walker Buehler), their best hitter went 0 for 2 with two strikeouts (Bellinger), Max Muncy committed an error and their pitchers allowed a .357 batting average against (5 for 14) while posting an ERA of 6.00 (two runs in three innings).

This wasn't exactly a splendid display for MLB's winningest team.
