When is it?

The Netball World Cup 2019 begins in Liverpool on Friday, July 12 and will finish on Sunday, July 21.

It is the third time the international netball competition has been held on English soil since the international competition began in 1963.

Tickets for the tournament have already sold out, but you can watch all the action on TV or online.

As broadcast sponsors, Sky Sports will show every game of the tournament.

Who are the England team?

The England netball team are coached by Tracey Neville, whose twin is England Women's football coach Phil Neville.

Neville led England to glory at the 2018 Commonwealth Games beating Australia 52-51, but not everyone made her team this year.

The 29-year-old from Jersey made her professional debut when she was just 17 and has so far earned 51 caps for her country.

Known for her speed, this will be the third time Guthrie has competed in a World Cup.

In the Super Netball League, she has played for teams in New Zealand, Australia and the UK, but said she wanted to return to her old club Team Bath at the end of the 2018 season.

Of being appointed England captain, she said:  'It's a proud moment for me. It's going to be a real honour for us all to step out in front of the nation.'

Jade Clarke, vice captain (plays WD, C, WA)

Vice captain Jade Clarke is the most capped England netball player, with 161 to her name.

Primarily a midcourt defender, 2019 will be the fifth World Cup for the 35-year-old from Manchester.

She currently plays for Wasps in the UK's Netball Superleague, but before that, completed successful stints at teams in Australia and New Zealand.

Helen Housby (plays GA, GS)

Housby played in Superleague side Manchester Thunder until 2016. She now plays for the New South Wales Swifts in Australia.

Off court, she loves animals and has completed two years of a zoology degree.

Mentor is a netball veteran, having been selected for the England national team back in 2000 at the age of just 16.

Now 34, the 6ft 2in goalkeeper from Bournemouth has clocked up 138 caps for England and competed in four World Cups.

She is one of the best netball players in the world, earning her a CBE in the 2019 honours list.

Mentor currently plays for the Collingwood Magpies in Australia.

Rachel Dunn (plays GS, GA)

Veteran shooter Dunn missed out on the England Commonwealth Games Squad, but is in Neville's World Cup line-up.

When she's not on the court, she's a genetic scientist, but somehow still finds the time to play for Wasps.

Guscoth is one of the most versatile players on the team, having first been selected to play for England in 2015.

The 27-year-old from Birmingham currently plays for the Adelaide Thunderbirds in Australia.

Prior to that she played for Team Bath and the Hertfordshire Mavericks in the English Superleague, where she was twice named player of the season.

Guscoth is a qualified junior doctor and took time off from netball to study before returning to play in 2018.

Joanne Harten (plays GS, GA)

Jo Harten is a 99-capped England player and has competed in three World Cup tournaments.

The 30-year-old from Essex won a gold medal as a key member of the England team in the 2011 World Netball Series.

The 6ft 2in goal shooter currently plays for the Giants in the newly created Australian Super Netball league and was the team's top goal scorer in 2018 with 453 goals from 520 attempts.

Chelsea Pitman (plays WA, C, GA)

Pitman might be Australian, but she's shooting for England in this year's World Cup.

The 31-year-old from Sydney currently plays for the Adelaide Thunderbirds alongside English teammate Guscoth. Both were appointed co-captains of the Thunderbirds ahead of the 2019 season.

Natalie Panagarry (plays C, WD)

The 28-year-old from Blackpool is the shortest player in the England team at 5ft 7ins - but that doesn't make her any less fierce.

Panagarry is relatively new to the England team, with eight caps so far, but she's earned her place in this year's World Cup squad.

She currently plays for Loughborough Lightning in the UK's Netball Superleague.

Francesca Williams (plays GD, WD)

At 21 years old, Williams, from Richmond in west London, is the youngest in the squad.

Since making her debut on the international stage last November, the former under-21 team captain has enjoyed a rapid rise of success.

With three England caps, she's now about to achieve her dream of competing in the World Cup.

'It's something I've always dreamt about and it still doesn't feel quite right,' she said.

Where are England in the rankings?

England are currently third in the International Netball Federation world rankings, behind Jamaica at number two and Australia at number one.

Outside the top three, New Zealand are ranked fourth ahead of the World Cup, with South Africa in fifth, and Uganda getting into the top six for the first time.

This is followed by Scotland in seventh, Northern Ireland in eighth, Malawi in ninth and Trinidad & Tobago at 10. Wales slipped one place and are now at 11.
