Mario Lemina prefers Man United switch Wantaway Southampton midfielder Mario Lemina would reportedly prefer a move to Manchester United over Arsenal this summer after being left out of Ralph Hasenhuttl’s pre-season squad. The Gabon international looks certain to leave St. Mary’s Stadium after being excluded from Hasenhuttl’s plans and posted an interesting compilation video on Twitter this week to attract interest in his services. According to the Daily Star, as cited by the Sport Review, Lemina is attracting heavyweight attention and has his heart set on a transfer to Old Trafford this summer, rather than joining his international compatriot Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at Arsenal.

Manchester United have reportedly played down the speculation linking them with a move to sign Mario Lemina from Southampton.

The Red Devils had reportedly enquired over a deal to sign the midfielder, but according to claims from The Manchester Evening News, sources within the club have refuted these indications.

Instead, it is believed that Southampton are attempting to drum up interest in the Gabon international, who arrived in an £18 million deal from Juventus in the summer of 2017.

The MEN’s report claims that the Saints are hoping to trigger an auction for Lemina’s signature in the hope that they can sell him for a fee worth in the region of £30 million this summer.

Lemina is determined to secure a move away from St Mary’s Stadium ahead of next season and was excluded from Ralph Hasenhuttl’s 26-man squad that travelled to Austria for pre-season training this week.

Whether or not Manchester United will firm up their apparent interest in signing the 25-year-old remains to be seen, with Paul Pogba’s future at Old Trafford up in the air.

Arsenal and United reportedly enquire over Lemina deal.
Manchester United and Arsenal have both enquired over a possible deal for Southampton midfielder Mario Lemina, according to a report from The Daily Mail. The Gabon international recently admitted that he is open to leaving St Mary’s Stadium this summer, with Ralph Hasenhuttl taking the club in a different direction. Lemina was excluded from the squad that travelled to Austria on Monday for a pre-season training camp despite having returned for initial tests at Southampton’s Staplewood training campus in previous days.
