Crystal Palace linked with Khouma Babacar

Crystal Palace linked with Khouma Babacar Sassuolo striker Khouma Babacar has emerged as a target for Crystal Palace, according to claims from Italy. The Eagles were reportedly on the verge of completing a £12 million deal for the forward last summer, but no transfer materialised as the 26-year-old remained in Serie A. However, they are again being linked with a pursuit of Babacar this year, with Corriere dello Sport, as cited in a report from Calciomercato, suggesting that Palace are among the potential suitors for the Senegalese attacker.

Crystal Palace could face competition from Espanyol in their reported pursuit of Sassuolo striker Khouma Babacar.

According to claims from the Italian media last week, the Eagles have expressed an interest in recruiting the forward, whose future in Serie A is currently uncertain.

However, should Palace firm up their interest and pursue Babacar, they could be faced with stiff opposition from elsewhere.

Novantesimo, as cited in a report from Calciomercato, states that La Liga side Espanyol have entered the race to sign the front-man from Sassuolo this summer.

The Spanish outfit enjoyed a good season domestically last term and were able to secure their place in the Europa League after finishing seventh in the top flight.

Borja Iglesias was notably impressive up front for Espanyol, but ahead of what promises to be an intriguing season for the club, they have seemingly set their sights on adding to their attacking options, with Babacar linked.

Palace may need to move quickly if they are to lure the Senegalese striker to Selhurst Park this summer.

Palace make contact over deal to sign Morelos.
Crystal Palace have reportedly made contact with the representatives of Rangers forward Alfredo Morelos. According to Rincon Escoces, as cited on the Daily Record, Palace have made contact as they enter the race to sign the player. Morelos, who scored 26 times last season, has been heavily linked with moves to the Premier League in the past and has previously made it known that he wants to play in England. Newcastle were said to be admirers during Rafa Benitez’s time at the club, while the Daily Record’s report also cites interest from Borussia Dortmund, Nice and Marseille. Rangers are under no pressure to sell, but Morelos does come with his fair share of baggage.
