West Ham move for Moussa Marega

West Ham move for Moussa Marega West Ham have reportedly made the first move in the race to land FC Porto’s Moussa Marega this summer, with the Hammers said to have made a €35million bid for the striker. Marega has long been linked with a move to the Premier League, with a number of sides said to be eyeing a move for the 28-year-old once again this summer. However, according to Sport Witness via Portuguese outlet A Bola, the Hammers have made an offer of €35million to Porto, as they look to beat the likes of Aston Villa and Wolverhampton Wanderers in the race to sign the striker.

West Ham United were reportedly knocked back by Lorient winger Alexis Claude-Maurice following their approach earlier this summer.

The Hammers had been linked with the Frenchman, and according to Le Telegramme, as translated by Sport Witness, a sizable bid was made.

Manuel Pellegrini’s team are believed to have put an offer worth €15 million on the table for Claude-Maurice, and Lorient were left ‘satisfied’ with the financial terms of this deal.

However, the player himself was reportedly reluctant to complete the switch to the London Stadium because of concerns regarding the regularity of game time he would receive.

Claude Maurice is said to be keen to manage his step up from the second tier of French football to an elite league carefully, and is, therefore, exploring other alternatives despite his apparent desire to play in England.

Borussia Monchengladbach are understood to be potential suitors for the wide player, but they may need to up their opening €8 million bid for the youngster, which was rejected.

West Ham eye up summer move for Isaac Hayden.
West Ham are one of several clubs interested in signing Newcastle United midfielder Isaac Hayden this summer, according to the Northern Echo. The £15 million rated Englishman will leave St James’ Park, with a desire to be closer to his family down south. A host of Premier League sides are eyeing up a move for him and West Ham are one of them. Hayden’s dynamism in the middle of the park is seen as something that could improve the Hammers moving forward. They will face competition from Wolves, Watford and Brighton, however, with the final decision likely to be down to Hayden himself.
