Southampton again linked with Dragowski move

Southampton again linked with Dragowski move Southampton and Bournemouth have once again been linked with Fiorentina goalkeeper Bartlomiej Dragowski. Reports earlier on in the summer suggested that the Saints were not in the race to sign the shot-stopper despite speculation from the Italian media. However, rumours regarding a possible move to St Mary’s Stadium have resurfaced. Tuttomercatoweb, as cited in a report from Football Italia, claims that Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side are keen to sign Dragowski. The Poland Under-21 international impressed during a short-term loan at Empoli in the second half of last season, and he was believed to be set for a starting role at parent club Fiorentina ahead of next term.

Mattia Perin (Italian pronunciation: [matˈtiːa peˈrin]; born 10 November 1992) is an Italian professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Serie A club Juventus and the Italy national team.

Mattia Perin – Yes, Newcastle are interested. Perin would be much more economical as he was bought by Juventus for just €12m last summer. This week, though, it is Porto who are very heavily linked with interest in the keeper as well as the aforementioned Lazio, but only as a replacement if

Newcastle United are reportedly keeping tabs on Italian goalkeeper Mattia Perin after Juventus re-signed club legend Gianluigi Buffon on a short-term deal, but would the Italian be a good signing?

Buffon’s contract specifically stipulates that he will start a certain number of games, injury forbidding, in order to surpass Paolo Maldini’s record for appearances in Serie A and as a result, Perin’s future has been cast into doubt with the 26-year-old unwilling to play third choice.

While a potential move away from the Old Lady seems like a sensible choice for a player of Perin’s quality, he is unlikely to find any such salvation at Newcastle where Martin Dubravka currently holds down the number one jersey.

Who are the winners and losers from the Ayoze Perez deal?

Who are the winners and losers from the Ayoze Perez deal? Leicester have announced the signing of Newcastle United’s Ayoze Perez for a fee reported to be around £30 million. The Spaniard becomes Brendan Rodgers second signing as Leicester City boss, joining Justin James who became the first signing of the window after joining from Luton Town. Perez netted 12 goals in the Premier League last season, assisting two in the process. However, the Spaniard’s move leaves a huge hole in the Newcastle United attack, with only Dwight Gayle and Japanese forward Yoshinori Muto remaining as the club’s two strikers. Perez brings Leicester some good depth up front, and will challenge Jamie Vardy for the lead striker role.

Juventus ’ pursuit of Mattia Perin is not one of those instances. In a very, very good interview with the Corriere di Torino on Monday, Perin has spoken about how flattering it is that I repeat, I’m aware Juventus are a great club, that I’ll find another great goalkeeper and there will be space for me to play.

Having made his loan move from Sparta Prague permanent last summer, the Slovakian stopper has gone on to excel in his short time at St James’ Park, cementing his place as both a fans favourite and a reliable shot-stopper.

Perin meanwhile is at a crucial stage of his career and since making his breakthrough at Genoa, he has seen his potential stall after a big money move to Juventus. The last thing the Italian international needs is another season of uncertainty on the bench, with his place in the national side becoming more and more heavily contested.

It would, therefore, be a poor piece of business from both parties if they were to sanction such a move, and Newcastle should begin to address more pressing issues such as their diminishing goal threat.

West Ham set to miss out on Rondon signing.
West Ham are set to miss out on the signing of Salomon Rondon, with the striker joining Chinese Super League side Dalian Yifang, according to Football Insider. The Hammers had been linked with bringing in the striker this summer, as Manuel Pellegrini’s looks to sign new faces. West Ham were believed to have bid £14 million for the Venezuela international, but a move couldn’t be finalised. Rondon has reportedly agreed terms with Dalian Yifang, exiting West Brom in the process after meeting his £16.5 million release clause. It will reunite the 29-year-old with Rafa Benitez, who has taken charge of the Super League club.
