Keita to join Liverpool training before new season
The injury Naby Keita aggravated at the African Cup of Nations appears unlikely to impact his availability for Liverpool in August.
Liverpool began their 2019 pre-season campaign with a comfortable 6-0 win over Tranmere Rovers at Prenton Park.
Rhian Brewster scored a brace in the first half, while Nathaniel Clyne opened the scoring on the day. After the break, Curtis Jones, Divock Origi and Bobby Duncan scored the goals to lead the Reds to a romping victory.
Manager Jurgen Klopp named quite a strong line-up for the first half of this game, with the likes of James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Clyne, Simon Mignolet and Adam Lallana featuring.
In the second half though, there were more youngsters involved, along with few senior players – namely Fabinho, Joel Matip and Divock Origi thrown in the mix.
