Mulumbu signed a two-year deal with Celtic after joining the club last summer, but only made three appearances for the Hoops. As quoted by Football Scotland, Lennon said this: “Mulumbu is a free.” “He is away, so there is not a future for him here.” Lennon was speaking after Celtic’s 2-1 friendly victory over Wiener SC, with Mulumbu now set to find a new club for next season.

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has revealed that he has “never heard” of young prospect Sergio Quintero, casting huge doubt over the midfielder’s hopes of joining the Scottish Champions, according to the Express.

The 20-year-old midfielder recently expressed a strong interest in moving to Parkhead this season from Ecuadorian outfit Imbabura SC.

Talking to the media recently, Quintero said:

“It would be very difficult to adapt to life in a country like Scotland, but with time I think I would be able to settle in.”

“I’ve already done English lessons – not a lot, but I have learned enough.”

Neil Lennon on Tom Rogic's future: "There have been no enquiries"

Neil Lennon on Tom Rogic's future: Neil Lennon has confirmed that “there have been no enquiries” for Celtic star Tom Rogic from any clubs, despite recent reports linking him with a move to Russia. Zenit were reportedly preparing a £9 million offer for the Australian midfielder but as per the Daily Record, Lennon said that Celtic are yet to receive and approaches for the 26-year-old. “I haven’t heard anything and there have been no enquiries It’s just speculation at the moment, as far as I’m concerned.

Celtic Football Club has always competed in the highest level of football in Scotland, currently the Scottish Premiership. The club was constituted in 1887, and played its first game in 1888. Celtic play their home games at Celtic Park having moved there in 1892 from their original ground nearby.

A midfielder is an association football position. Midfielders are generally positioned on the field between their team' s defenders and forwards.

However, Lennon squashed any speculation of the Ecuadorian ever donning the green and white hoops of Celtic, saying that he was not even aware of the midfielder, who excelled in this summer’s U20 World Cup in Poland with Ecuador who got all the way to the semi-finals of the tournament.

The Northern Irishman said:

“Never heard of him.”

“That name has not cropped up at all, he’s not popped up on the radar.”

Lennon responded to the speculation following the recent 3-1 win against FK Sarajevo in the first leg of their Champions League first-round qualifier.

Celtic surprisingly fell behind to a goal from Mirko Oremus on the half-hour mark, but they wrestled back control of the tie thanks to goals from Mikey Johnston, Odsonne Edouard and Scott Sinclair.

Lennon also said that he hopes Celtic will be active in the transfer market before the start of the season.

“We’re looking at a number of positions and hopefully we’ll get some business done sooner rather than later because the priority at the minute is to negotiate these qualifiers.”

“The more quality we have, the better chance we’ve got.”

Midfield looks to be the priority with the impending departure of midfielder Olivier Ntcham who is set to leave ahead of the new season.

Lennon hoping for two more defensive additions.
Celtic boss Neil Lennon has confirmed he is hoping to bring in two more defensive signings this summer, the Daily Express report. The Hoops have already brought in Christopher Jullien from Toulouse and Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo from Rapid Vienna, with the latter making his Celtic debut in the 3-1 over FK Sarajevo. Lennon, who has also added highly-rated midfielder Luca Connell to his ranks from Bolton Wanderers, is expected to bring in more signings ahead of the new season. And talking to the media, the Northern Irishman admitted that Jullien isn’t quite fully fit yet and is looking to bolster his centre-back options further ahead of the new campaign.
