Southampton striker Sam Gallagher is closing in on his sale to Blackburn Rovers, and has been spotted at the club’s Brockhall Training Ground.

The 23-year old was pictured outside of the club’s training ground, with a £5million deal appearing close to going through.

According to the Daily Echo, the Saints have come to an agreement with the Championship club, and the forward will sign at Ewood Park after completing a medical.

Adams to undergo Saints medical today Che Adams is expected to undergo a medical at Southampton today, with the striker on the verge of joining from Birmingham City. Football Insider reports that the striker is set to finalise a deal to join the Saints later today, with an official announcement likely to follow swiftly after. Adams has been a long-term target for the Saints after the club tried to sign the striker in January. Birmingham rejected an offer in the region of £10 million at the start of the year, but the new deal is thought to be worth around £17 million. He is now expected to pen a four-year contract at St Mary’s, worth a reported £60,000-a-week.

Gallagher has piqued the interest of a number of Championship clubs this summer, with Wigan and Brentford also understood to have made formal approaches.

Gallagher previously spent a season on loan at Ewood Park, scoring 12 times in 47 appearances across all competitions for Rovers.

The Southampton academy graduate also spent a season on loan with Birmingham City, the former club of new summer signing Che Adams.

The striker’s last tweet was him revealing he had been training with wantaway midfielder Mario Lemina, with the pair both linked with moves away from St Marys. Austin, who angered some Saints fans for posting pictures of himself wearing a Liverpool shirt on the platform, has now deactivated his account after posting the tweet.
